1. High melting point and high thermal stability, the melting point is about 3140°C, and the structure can still remain stable at high temperature, suitable for extreme environment applications.
2. Ultra-high hardness and wear resistance, the microhardness can reach 28-35 GPa (close to diamond), excellent wear resistance, often used in cutting tools and coatings.
3. Excellent chemical inertness, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, strong oxidation resistance (slow oxidation at high temperature), suitable for corrosive environments.
4. Good electrical and thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity is better than ceramic materials, can be used for electrodes or electronic components.
5. Low density and high rigidity, the density is only 4.93 g/cm3, lighter than many metal carbides, but with outstanding rigidity.
